Perth, Sydney and Melbourne each have laboratories that test or analyse peptides: Proteomics International and ChemCentre in Perth; Chemika, Eurofins and BioAgilytix in Sydney; and Eurofins, Leeder Analytical, RASL and BioAgilytix in Melbourne. Most of them serve industry, research or regulators, so for a personal vial your city matters less than whether the lab accepts samples from individuals, and postal testing covers the whole country.
This report lists the labs by city using the sites each names on its own pages, with what each does with peptides and who it works for. Adelaide and Brisbane are included too.
Peptide testing in Perth
- Proteomics International, Nedlands. Based at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, it offers intact mass of proteins and peptides by LC/MS, de novo peptide sequencing and peptide mass fingerprinting. Its quality page lists ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, NATA 16838, held since 2009 (Proteomics International quality). Work starts on a signed quotation and purchase order.
- ChemCentre, Bentley. The Western Australian Government's chemistry laboratory, on Curtin University's Bentley campus. Its forensic proteomics work routinely screens racehorse samples for about 40 performance-enhancing peptides and analyses peptide drugs in seized material (ChemCentre).
- SGS. Its Australian biopharmaceutical characterisation page gives a contact office at Perth Airport and covers peptide mapping, sequencing and molecular weight to GLP/cGMP standards, but does not say where the lab work is done (SGS).
None of the three says on its peptide pages that it accepts vials from private individuals. Someone in Perth with a personal sample would usually test by post.
Peptide testing in Sydney
- Chemika, Girraween. A pharmaceutical testing lab that provides peptide testing for regulated products, for commercial clients only. Its peptide page says it does not accept samples from members of the public or test peptides bought from overseas suppliers or online vendors (Chemika).
- Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing, Girraween. Part of a GMP testing network that lists peptides as a supported product type. Its accreditations page lists NATA ISO/IEC 17025, a TGA licence and GMP certificate for the Sydney site (Eurofins accreditations).
- BioAgilytix, North Ryde. One of the group's three Australian sites; it runs bioanalysis of peptide drugs for pharmaceutical and biotech clients (BioAgilytix).
Peptide testing in Melbourne
- Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing, Dandenong South. The network's second Australian site, listed with a TGA licence and GMP certificate.
- Leeder Analytical, Fairfield. Lists protein and peptide characterisation and amino acid profiling, from what it describes as a NATA-accredited Melbourne lab (Leeder Analytical).
- RASL, Flemington. Racing Analytical Services Limited tests for prohibited substances in racing and runs the HASTA sports supplement screen, which covers the WADA class of peptide hormones and growth factors. Its site footer gives NATA accreditation no. 4105 (RASL).
- BioAgilytix, Melbourne. The group's Australian head office, on St Kilda Road.
Chemika's contact page also names Melbourne, though it gives a street address for its Sydney site only.
Adelaide and Brisbane
Adelaide has Agilex Biolabs, whose head office is in Thebarton and which runs regulated LC-MS/MS bioanalysis of drugs including peptides (Agilex Biolabs), and Flinders Analytical at Flinders University in Bedford Park, which determines the molecular weight of synthetic peptides by mass spectrometry. Brisbane has Agilex's site at Herston and BioAgilytix in Woolloongabba. Both Agilex and BioAgilytix work for trial sponsors and drug developers.

What the city pattern shows
Each city's labs lean towards a different kind of peptide work. Sydney's are mostly pharmaceutical quality control under TGA licences. Melbourne mixes GMP testing, research characterisation, bioanalysis and racing and sport drug testing. Perth has a research mass spectrometry lab and the state's forensic chemistry laboratory. Adelaide and Brisbane are mainly bioanalysis for clinical trials, with a university facility in Adelaide. In every city the work is aimed at companies, researchers or agencies rather than at a person holding one vial.
Regional and interstate readers
None of the listed labs names a site outside the five capitals above, and none has a listed site in Tasmania, the Northern Territory or the ACT. For readers in Hobart, Darwin, Canberra or regional towns, postal testing is the practical route, and the steps are the same as for anyone else.
Peptide testing near me: why location matters less
Searches for peptide testing near me assume you can walk a sample in. None of the lab pages we checked describes a walk-in service for members of the public, and the labs that list a personal-sample service work by post. That puts Perth, Hobart and Darwin on the same footing as Sydney: what matters is whether the lab accepts your sample and how long post takes.
For a single vial, Peptide Testing Australia takes posted samples from anywhere in Australia and quotes approximately 5-7 business days plus postage. Our guide to sending a sample covers packing and posting, and Australia Post notes that its network is not temperature controlled, which is worth bearing in mind in a Perth or Brisbane summer (Australia Post).
Checking a lab in your city
Before you contact a local lab, check three things: whether its peptide work is vial testing or something else, whether it takes samples from individuals, and whether the method you need is on its accreditation scope. NATA's search page lets you filter accredited organisations by state, standard and accreditation number.
Questions
Q.01Is there peptide testing in Perth?
Perth has Proteomics International in Nedlands and ChemCentre in Bentley, both of which analyse peptides, but neither says it accepts personal vials. Personal samples from Perth are usually tested by post.
Q.02Where can I get peptides tested in Sydney?
Chemika, Eurofins and BioAgilytix have Sydney sites, but Chemika says it does not accept samples from the public and the others do not say. A postal service such as Peptide Testing Australia accepts personal samples.
Q.03Is there peptide testing in Melbourne?
Melbourne has Eurofins, Leeder Analytical, RASL and BioAgilytix. Their peptide work is mainly for industry, research and racing, and none says it accepts personal vials.
Q.04Is there peptide testing in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast?
Agilex Biolabs and BioAgilytix have Brisbane sites, both doing bioanalysis for trial sponsors. None of the listed labs names a Gold Coast site; postal testing covers the whole country.
